A Unique Experience

Come aboard the Tall Ship SoundWaters, a three-masted schooner styled after a 19th century Chesapeake Bay sharpie schooner. Treat your employees, associates, friends or family to a brilliant sunset or beautiful afternoon on Long Island Sound, enjoyed from the deck of this 80-foot sailing vessel.

SoundWaters is steel-hulled, U.S. Coast Guard-certified to carry up to 40 passengers. The decks are wide and comfortable and can accommodate wheelchairs. A quiet diesel engine motors the schooner until the sails are raised.

Charter Fees

Charter fee for a three-hour sail is $2,750. Charter fees, which help underwrite the cost of SoundWaters Education Programs, include Crew, Fuel, Docking Costs and all taxes. Weeknight and weekend options are available.

Catering

SoundWaters has arranged with two professional caterers with shipboard experience to offer a choice of menu options for your event. Below are sample menus. Specific menu choices can be arranged with the caterer and pricing may vary with customized selections. Not included: Staff, delivery, rentals, glass and china products/tablecloths, beverages, tax, gratuities. Or, you may bring your own caterer.

Menu 1- Assorted Sandwich platter, side salads, dessert

Menu 2 - Entrée salads (cold salads mixed with chicken, meat or seafood), rolls and
butter, dessert

Menu 3 - Entrée platters or roasted vegetables, chicken, shrimp salmon or sliced
filet, salads, dessert, rolls and butter

Education Option

During the Charter, SoundWaters also can offer an entertaining and educational program. The brief lively session focuses on the ecology and history of Long Island Sound. Call (203) 406 3319 for more information.

Reservations

A limited number of private charters are scheduled during the sailing season. For most of the sailing season, the schooner serves as the Floating Classroom, offering educational sails to school groups, camps, scouts and other organizations. Boarding

Groups depart from Brewer Yacht Haven Marina (I-95, Exit 7) in Stamford. For directions click here. Throughout the sailing season, the schooner travels to other parts of the Sound to conduct educational programs. If you are interested in arranging a charter from a dock other than Brewer Marina in Stamford, please contact SoundWaters, at (203) 406-3319, to check the schooner schedule.

Insurance

SoundWaters is fully insured. The policy is available upon request.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation of the charter will result in certain fees. SoundWaters full Cancellation Policy is available upon request. In case of inclement weather, SoundWaters will make every effort to reschedule the charter. If the charter cannot be rescheduled, a refund will be issued.

Land and Sea Option

SoundWaters Coastal Center is also available for rental. You may split the day, combining a sail on the Schooner with a meeting or reception at the Center.
