During School Time:
COASTAL EXPLORERS- This two-part program begins with a visit from SoundWaters educators and a water quality lesson. Students spend time learning about Long Island Sound within the familiarity of their classroom. A field trip to the SoundWaters Coastal Center allows students to sample the water quality of Holly Pond while canoeing.

FLOATING CLASSROOM - Bring your students aboard the schooner SoundWaters for an exciting 3-hour environmental education sail. Students haul in the “catch of the day” with our own trawl net, set sail, learn about salt marshes, plankton, water quality, and discover the wonders beneath the waters! Floating Classroom programs complements the standards and performances for CT and NY Core Science Curriculum Frameworks including standards for: Matter and Energy in Ecosystems, The Changing Earth, and Science and Technology.

SEA & SAND - Make a day of it! Sail aboard the Schooner SoundWaters, then enhance your experience with an additional two hours of programming at the SoundWaters Coastal Center.

After School:
COASTAL SCIENCE INVESTIGATION: SOUNDWATERS- Students become scientists racing to solve ecological mysteries in this unique 3-hour long after school program. Participants travel to a variety of field sites and learn all about the scientific method through hands-on experiments.
