Cove Island Park is a beautiful place and its beauty can change by the season, the day and even by the hour.  As you walk, run, swim, boat or play in this gem of a park, what scenes make you stop and stare?  Well, don’t keep them to yourself!  SoundWaters is sponsoring a photo contest to motivate Cove Island visitors to photograph and share what strikes them as beautiful, interesting or unique scenes from the park and the surrounding environments of Long Island Sound and Holly Pond. The contest will restart monthly with new themes.

The theme for August 2026 is:

• Old & New

The public will select a winning photo at the end of each month via by voting on Instagram.  The winner will receive a SoundWaters cap.

How To Enter Your Photo

Step #1: Take a beautiful photo Step #2: Email your photo to photos@soundwaters.org or direct-message SoundWaters on Instagram.  At the end of the month we will post all photos received on the SoundWaters Instagram account so the public can vote on the favorite (i.e. get your friends to vote!)

Choosing a Winner

SoundWaters will post all entries on Instagram for 24 hours at the end of each month for the public to vote.   Step #3: If you are a winner, stop by SoundWaters at Cove Island or email photos@soundwaters.org.  In addition to being posted in Instagram, the winning photo will be displayed on the bulletin board at the entrance to Cove Island Park.
