SoundWaters HarborFest – August 27, 2022
Let’s go to the harbor! HarborFest is bringing Stamford to the harbor for the city’s biggest waterfront celebration in its history. Thousands of visitors of all ages will flock to the Harbor Point Waterfront to enjoy, historic tours of Stamford Harbor, mini golf, kids boat building, marine animals, dockside boat tours and of course, the Aquarion Cardboard Kayak Race for the Mayor’s Trophy! HarborFest is Stamford’s celebration of the Harbor and all its sea shore amenities. Don’t miss it.
Coastal Cleanups – Monthly
Our coastline is one of our most precious resources and all of us must chip in to keep it pristine. SoundWaters is leading the charge, but needs everyone’s help. We host seasonal clean-up days when we will provide you with gloves and bags to walk the public shoreline and pick up human debris. We weigh and catalog everything collected before disposing of it in the appropriate manner. Coastal cleanups are ideal for friends, families and teams.
SoundWaters Tall Ships Ball – May 6, 2022
The Tall Ships Ball is back! Join SoundWaters on May 6. Imagine it’s 1923, right in the middle of prohibition. We’ll turn Riverside Yacht Club into our own speakeasy – the Schooner Club – and our host, Al Roker from NBC’s TODAY Show, will help us kick off one of the most exciting years in SoundWaters history. Enjoy incredible food, great music and dancing and, despite prohibition, plenty of liquor. Add exciting auctions full of unique items and experiences that money can’t buy and we’ll have the party of the decade. All this in support of Long Island Sound education for all students.
SoundWaters Flotilla – July 16, 2022
Talk about a movement to protect Long Island Sound! This event actually moves – from Cove Island Park on Stamford’s east side to Boccuzzi Park on the west side – hundreds of people of all ages and skill levels paddling kayaks and paddle boards in a big, colorful flotilla of small boats, finishing with a great party celebrating a fun day and a job well done. Everyone paddling is telling their friends and family and raising money to help SoundWaters teach more underserved kids about Long Island Sound.
