Enjoy the excitement and wonder of the Long Island Sound aboard our 80′ Schooner. Two-hour sunset and afternoon sails offered all summer long from Stamford, CT.
Sunset Sails
Wednesday – Sundays
Bring your dinner and your favorite beverage and relax while watching the sun dip below the horizon Price $40/person. All passengers must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by an adult.
Afternoon Sails
Saturdays and Sundays
Enjoy a brilliant afternoon sail on Long Island Sound. Price Adults $35/adult, Children (ages 5-12) $20/child. All passengers must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by an adult.

The Schooner departs ON TIME. If the sail is scheduled to depart at 6:30pm, it will leave at 6:30pm. Please be at the dock at 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
We require a minimum of 8 passengers to sail and in case of low attendance, passengers will be notified 4 hours before the sail that the sail is cancelled and receive a full refund.
All sales are final.

Please note these important procedures as you planning to experience Long Island Sound aboard the Schooner SoundWaters.
In accordance with Center for Disease Control guidance on COVID-19 prevention measures, SoundWaters will carry a maximum of 25 passengers on public sails.
At check-in passengers will be screened for any observable illness, including cough or respiratory distress, and asked if they are experiencing any of the above. Screenings will be logged.
Boarding will be staggered and in groups of no more than five people at a time.
At boarding the captain and crew will identify a seating area for each passenger/passenger group. The seating areas will allow for a minimum of six feet of distance between unrelated/unconnected parties. No seating area will include more than five individuals. Parties of more than five will be separated into two or more seating areas.
SoundWaters will limit the sale of tickets to no more than five per person.
Passengers will be required to wear masks while proceeding to the vessel, while boarding, and while disembarking. They may remove their masks once in their designated seating area.
Captain and crew will wear masks at all times while within six feet of passengers or each other.
Passengers will be required to clean their hands with alcohol-based sanitizer that will be provided at boarding. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the sail and its use encouraged.
Passengers may bring food and beverage aboard. However, they may only share food with the individuals in their designated seating area. No catering nor buffet-style food will be permitted on public sails. Crew will not assist passengers in any way with food or beverage.
The crew will perform cleaning procedures before boarding, one hour into the sail, and after returning to the dock to disinfect hand rails, deck boxes, and any surfaces gear that passengers have access to.
The setup on the boat is casual, no seat assignments, passengers can stand or sit on a bench-style elevation. You are welcome to bring small picnic-style meal, snacks, soft drinks, waters, wine/beer, no hard liquor, please. Small coolers only as the space is limited on the boat.
Boat shoes, sneakers, comfortable rubber sole shoes – great, no high heels.
There is no special protected space from the sun, so wear a hat, sunblock. Extra layer of clothing is recommended for sunset sails on cooler days.

Stamford

Plenty of parking is available in the park. Drive all the way down the driveway towards the water and turn left. A Stamford Beach pass is required, if you don’t have one be sure to get one from a crew member when you arrive. If you don’t have a parking pass and get a ticket, we can’t help you.
A crew member will meet you at the parking lot and direct to the boat location. Please be aware, it’s a 5 min walk from the parking lot to the Schooner.
The Schooner will depart ON TIME and we cannot accommodate late arrivals. Please check in with a crew member at least 15 minutes before your sail is scheduled to depart. If you don’t check in 15 minutes before the sail you risk losing your spot.
Bridgeport

Parking is free, crew member will meet you at the parking lot and direct to the boat location. Please be aware, it’s a 5 min walk from the parking lot to the Schooner.

Port Jefferson

Custom Charters
Charter The Schooner
Come aboard the Tall Ship SoundWaters, a three-masted schooner styled after a 19th century Chesapeake Bay sharpie schooner. Treat your employees, associates, friends or family to a brilliant sunset or beautiful afternoon on Long Island Sound, enjoyed from the deck of this 80-foot sailing vessel.
SoundWaters is steel-hulled, U.S. Coast Guard-certified to carry up to 40 passengers. The decks are wide and comfortable and can accommodate wheelchairs. A quiet diesel engine motors the schooner until the sails are raised. All children must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by an adult.
A limited number of private charters are available between May and October.
The standard charter fee is $2,000 for a 2 hour sail. Longer trips are available on request (contact us for pricing info). Charter fees, which help underwrite the cost of SoundWaters Education Programs, include Crew, Fuel, Docking Costs and all taxes. Weeknight, weekend, and weekday options are available.

You may bring aboard your own fare or use the caterer of your choice. We recommend simple, picnic type foods. Groups wishing to serve alcoholic beverages may offer beer and wine during their sail.

Groups depart from the SoundWaters Harbor Site located in Boccuzzi Park at Southfield, 166 Southfield Ave, Stamford CT. (directions) Throughout the sailing season, the schooner travels to many other ports across the Long Island Sound. Please contact SoundWaters, at (203) 406-3319 to check the schooner schedule.
Cancellation of the charter will result in certain fees. SoundWaters full Cancellation Policy is available upon request. In case of inclement weather, SoundWaters will make every effort to reschedule the charter. If the charter cannot be rescheduled, a refund will be issued.
