Our Million Acre Classroom
SoundWaters teaches over 32,000 students every year from Connecticut and New York aboard our 80′ schooner, in schools and at our two coastal education centers. Over 30% of students come to us on scholarships from underserved communities, thanks to the generous support of our donors. No child will be turned away from a SoundWaters program for the inability to pay.
We inspire learning through fun, yet rigorous, hands-on science that is tied to classroom content and state education standards. We work in partnership with 146 schools and organizations across the Long Island Sound region.
