Sailing Adventures!
Cooperative and hands on learning are some of the many teaching styles here at SoundWaters! By using these teaching methods, campers learn new skills and are then prepared to enjoy a beautiful day of sailing on Holly Pond!

Bluefish campers enjoy the day partaking in a special type of fishing, called seining! Using seine nets and dip nets, these explorers investigate and identify the many different animals of Long Island Sound!

Sea Star campers are taking a break from the heat! Using their knowledge and creative skills, these campers paint the different habitats of Long Island Sound!
Wet and Wild Fun!
Chester Addison and NEON students actively participate in testing the water quality of Long Island Sound. Using LaMotte bottles to collect their water samples, students then use scientific equipment that allows them to test the salinity, ph, turbidity and temperature of the Sound!
Pico Sailing
Pico sailors learn how to navigate the waters of Long Island Sound! No landlubber talk here, these sailors are using proper nautical terms and teamwork!
Exploring the Rocky Intertidal Zone!
Sea Star campers explore, decease collect, and identify the different animals of the Rocky Intertidal Zone! What a great way to study about the native and invasive species of Long Island Sound!
Opti Sailing!
Opti sailors venture out onto Holly Pond for some new and exciting voyages! Tack or jibe, they will get upwind!
