SoundKids Content Standards and Expected Performances

SoundKids successfully addresses Connecticut’s pre-K through kindergarten Content Standards and Expected Performances. Specifically, the SoundKids curriculum is designed to encourage scientific inquiry, literacy and basic mathematics at an appropriate developmental level. Over the course of a multiple-week SoundKids Program, students are called-upon to develop aspects of the following Expected Performances for the Pre-K to grade 2 framework:

 

INQ.1 Make observations and ask questions about objects, organisms and the environment.

INQ.3 Make predictions based on observed patterns.

INQ.4 [Read, write], listen and speak about observations of the natural world.

INQ.5 Seek information in [books, magazines and] pictures.

INQ.6 Present information in [words and] drawings.

INQ.8 Use non-standard measures to estimate and compare the size of objects.

INQ.9 Count, order and sort objects by their properties.
