Position Description: Development Associate – Events and Annual Fund

SoundWaters seeks a Development Associate who will work under the Director of Events and Marketing to support organizational and departmental goals around advocacy,  philanthropy, resource development and awareness campaigns.

Position Summary

The Development Associate will assist the Director of Events and Marketing with all aspects of event planning and support, as well as support general fundraising efforts. The successful candidate will combine excellent communication and organizational skills with the eagerness to learn new skills.

The Development Associate will assist in all aspects of event planning and preparation including the design and preparation of event materials, manage the event video production, manage the auction solicitation campaign, track RSVPS, manage data entry, and prepare donor acknowledgments for all events.  The Development Associate will also be in charge of creating and managing the Annual Fund production schedule and will oversee the printing and mailing of all asks.  Other duties include but are not limited to data management and acknowledgement of gifts received, supporting marketing and communications, and organizational tasks such as mailings, filling, and inventory.

Qualifications

  • Excellent writing, communication, and research skills
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint) and the ability to learn fund raising and web design management programs
  • Ability to be flexible, juggle a variety of tasks, work well under pressure, work as part of a team as well as independently in a small office environment is required
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to help physically manage the picking up, delivery and storage of donations and event set-ups and clean-ups
  • Valid driver’s license and must be authorized to work in the U.S.

This a part-time position with up to 25 hours a week and will require working some evenings and weekends for major events
