Example of a Shark’s Day
A day at Camp SoundWaters is anything but typical! The activities vary depending on weather and session. Below you will find an example daily schedule:
(If there is inclement weather, the lessons are moved indoors)
- 9:00am: Welcome Campers! Sign in at the bridge (see facilities for location)
Late arrivals must park and walk campers to camp office for sign-in. - Start the morning off with a game on the center field! Kick ball, soccer, frisbee, etc…
- 9:10am: Let’s get the fun started! Camper pow-wow at the SoundWaters Center.
Weekly song playing while we play a new game (camouflage, sharks & minnows) - 9:30am: Science Activity* –Put your lab goggles on! Science time for the Sharks. Experiments in the lab and outdoors, interact with live animals, what is an adaptation?
- 11:00am: Environmental Activity* – Let’s head out on the water! Canoeing, seining, fishing, and more. Spend this time of the day exploring outside!
- 12:00pm: Lunch
- 1:00pm: Art Activity* – Mosaics, picture frames, murals, wind chimes, modeling clay, so many materials to use! Your creations are guided by your counselors and left to your imagination!
- 2:00pm: Free Swim*
- 3:30pm: Wrap-up. As we pack up let’s share our favorite activity of the day! What is something you want to do tomorrow?
- 4:00pm: Camp day ends – parents pick up campers and sign out with staff at the bridge
*Rotation order changes daily
Other activities include… swim lessons, seining/fishing, adventure games, water games, exploring, discovering, and non-stop fun!
