Camp SoundWaters Spotlight- Meet Harrison!

Meet Camp Counselor Harrison! Harrison is a Waterfront Lifeguard for Camp SoundWaters. Get to know him below!

How many years have you been with SoundWaters?

This will be my third summer on the staff with SoundWaters. I had been a camper for several years before becoming a CIT for one year and this will be my second year as a counselor.

What is your favorite part about being a camp counselor?

My favorite part about being a camp counselor is connecting with a group of kids and making their summer one to remember! Through educating campers about the Long Island Sound and taking part in providing an unforgettable sailing experience there’s no place I would rather be!

What is your favorite camp week theme?

My favorite camp week theme would have to be Carnival week as the laughter and joy is reminisced throughout every ring toss to every attempt to dunk their favorite counselor.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I enjoy playing or teaching lacrosse to beginners, golfing, or spending time on the water any way I can.

Whats your school/major?

Currently, I attend Westhill High School in the Academy of Finance and I’m part of the graduating class of 2020. In college, I plan on majoring in either business or finance.

What are your certifications?

I am CPR, First Aid, AED, and waterfront lifeguard certified. In the future I’m interested in obtaining my US Level 1 sailing instructor certification!

Name one fun fact about yourself.

I love college football, especially the Big 10 and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. I also learned how to windsurf last summer putting some of my sailing experience to the test!.
