Second Grade Class Pays it Forward during visit for Hands-On Science Field Study
At Rye Country Day School studying Long Island Sound is the highlight of the second grade curriculum. During their studies the students decided they wanted to do something to help Long Island Sound and the idea of making a calendar filled with student artwork and public service announcements was born. The entire second grade visited SoundWaters for a day of exploring and hands-on learning. While they were here students presented a check to SoundWaters from the proceeds of their calendar sale so that other students could have the same great experiences they did.
Students were so excited to pay it forward they requested the money go towards food for our animals, clinic salt to keep the animals in our aquarium healthy, and microscopes so other students could learn.
