Christina Genz, Director of Education
Christina became the Director of Camp SoundWaters in 2014 and she is very excited to be overseeing all of SoundWaters summer programs again this year as the Director of Education. Christina works hard to make Camp SoundWaters and Young Mariners a home-away-from-home for campers. You can always find Christina at sign in greeting campers and getting them as excited as she is for the camp day!

Kat Norton, Camp Director
Kat joined Camp SoundWaters as a counselor in 2014, became Camp Director in 2020, and is thrilled to return to the role after taking a brief break to complete her Master’s in Education. She has also joined the full-time staff as the Assistant Director of Education. Kat is passionate about making camp a safe and joyful place for campers to learn and grow and is so grateful to get to spend her summers at the Coastal Education Center. Kat’s favorite part of camp is seeing campers return year after year and blossom into skillful and knowledgeable sailors and Long Island Sound stewards.

Katie Boback, Waterfront Manager
Katie has been a part of SoundWaters for two years as a full-time educator and sailing instructor. During the summer she leads the Sharks program as they sail on Long Island Sound. Katie’s favorite part of camp is watching sailors gain confidence on and off the water as they make lasting connections with each other and with their environment.
