Tim Abbott, Assistant Director of High School Education

Tim’s journey with SoundWaters began in 2010 as a high school intern. He went on to become a sailing instructor and part-time educator during college, before joining the staff full-time in 2019. With a BS in Biology and a strong foundation in evolutionary biology and genomics, Tim began leading the Research Intensive in 2020, where he focuses on teaching college-level field and lab techniques. Often found in the mud of rocky shores alongside students, Tim thrives in the hands-on, immersive aspects of the program. One of his favorite moments is watching students’ hard work come to fruition as they present their findings on presentation day.
