Before and after . . .

The crew of the schooner SoundWaters down rigged the entire vessel today. The sails were unbent, the gaffs and boom sent a shore, all the lines unreaved, and the blocks struck. All in all not a bad day.

Now this one fits!  This green crab molted its shell in less than one hour!  Can you tell which is the exoskeleton only?

Growing up…

How do you grow when you have a shell on the outside of your body?  Students from Dolan Middle School found this green crab in the seine net.  The crab is molting, or shedding, the shell.  A new, larger shell is underneath!
