Scofield sailors take the wheel!

This past week, Scofield’s after school Sailing Academy students traded their Optis for a trip on the schooner SoundWaters. As part of their sailing curriculum, they learned navigation, sail theory, knot-tying, sail handling, and even had the chance to steer! Many of the students were surprised to learn that the skills and principles that guide them in sailing Optis are the same skills and principles that guide the sailing of an 80′ schooner!
