STEM Academy embarks on a new adventure!

For the past three years, STEM Academy students have spent their summers hard at work practicing their science, technology, engineering, and math skills through experiments, games, hands-on projects and fun challenges. For the first time, this year’s students are meeting a new challenge – sailing! Today was their first day on the water, and for many students, their first day ever on a boat! Today, they began by learning that most important of basics – how to steer. In the days to come, they will build their sailing skills while learning about how their boats work, the environment they sail in, and they will even build boats themselves!
