Catching up with some old friends

October 20, 2016/in Blog

The start of the school year brings our Stamford Public School 6th graders to SoundWaters for a day of coastal exploration and the beginning of their study of the Long Island Sound watershed. On these days, it’s a particular pleasure for our educators to teach students from past programs and see how they’ve grown to meet middle school’s new challenges and adventures. Some of STEM Academy’s Class of 2015 had a surprise reunion as well last week – the terrapin turtles that they had helped to care for as hatchlings are now young adults! These students were so proud to share their terrapin knowledge with their classmates and to see how their charges have thrived.
