Seining Delight!

Students from Torrington Middle School visited SoundWaters last week to complete their study of the Long Island Sound watershed. The students had the chance to go canoeing, test the health of the water in LIS, meet some of the animals that live in the LIS and also go catch some for themselves!

We often catch juvenile animals in the marsh habitat with our students, such as the above pictured pufferfish. The marsh provides protection for these small animals and allows them time to grow.
