The schooner SoundWaters is home!

After over 500 miles traveled, 7 ports visited and nearly 1000 passengers the schooner SoundWaters sailed back through the Stamford Breakwater. Sailing east for the month of August was great but is nice to be back in our home port of Stamford.

Summer Fun with DOMUS Campers

The 4th and 5th grade DOMUS Campers are enjoying a great sail aboard the 80′ schooner SoundWaters.  After hauling in a great catch of squid, flounder, horseshoe crabs, and scup the students set sail and practiced tacking the schooner by themselves.

“BEST FIELD TRIP EVER!!!”

The students from Daly Elementary were all smiles even though they were damp from a passing shower.  Most of the students thought their trip on the schooner SoundWaters was the best field trip ever in spite of the rain.

Amazing first trawl with Port Washington Schools

We had an awesome trawl today with the students from Sousa and Daily elementary schools. Among the notable organisms we caught: 30cm dogfish, a 48cm fluke or summer flounder,  a 24cm porgy or scup, and slightly  “weathered” fishing pole.
