The crew of the schooner SoundWaters brought the STEM Sail Program to the 4th grade students of New Lebanon Elementary today. Although we didn’t go sailing today due to the rain the students learned alot and had a great time as well.
The Crew enjoyed a delightful morning of sail training in Captains Harbor. The best part was sailing wing on wing on wing past Indian Harbor Yacht Club. SoundWaters will be here all week offering STEM educational sails to students here in Greenwich.
The crew trawled today for the first time this season. The water temperature in Long Island Sound is still quite cold (about 37 f) so the haul was small: 1 dormant spider crab, and 4 sand shrimp.
The crew enjoyed a great training sail on the schooner SoundWaters. We are enjoying breaking in the new suit of sails from Nat Wilson. Yesterday we got the schooner sailing at 7kts.
